MEDIEVAL REAL TIME STRATEGY Opening Build Planner

Builders, farms, three mills, then army - the mill-first recipe.

Last updated:

Opening Build Order

This planner is a first-minutes recipe for MEDIEVAL REAL TIME STRATEGY, not a script. You still click every builder. The goal is a repeatable opener that funds Barracks without going broke, then leaves you in a shape that can destroy enemy castles. Pair it with the unit roster planner and the rest of the Tools Hub once the mill count is automatic.

Spling’s own description is the spine: choose a mode, spawn at your castle, right-click or tap the castle, recruit builders, walk them to a nearby farm, plant a windmill, and only after three or more windmills build army structures. Units auto-attack. Ranked waits until level 7. Matchmaking is 1-5 and 6+.

Default land opener

  1. Deselect panic. Look at nearby farms and the nearest enemy path before you spend.
  2. Two builders first. Castle builders cost about 10 gold each. Send both toward different farms if two are in reach; otherwise stack the closest farm and pivot the second builder as soon as the first mill starts.
  3. Screen if the lane is hot. A cheap Swordman (about 15 gold) or two buys time. A community opener used by high-win players is two builders plus three swordmen: grab farms, then add another swordman if a tower goes up. Do not let the screen eat mill number three.
  4. Windmills on farms. Each mill is about 11 gold per minute. The castle already drips about 25 money per minute, so two mills roughly double your early curve and three mills are the Barracks ticket. Upgrade a mill for about 25 gold when the lane is quiet.
  5. Houses and outposts. They generate some gold and outposts also help building limits. They are toppings, not a replacement for mills. Do not drop a house instead of mill three.
  6. Barracks after three-plus mills. Barracks unlock Knight, Longbower, Crossbower, Mage, and Wizard. It is a real gold bite. If you buy it on two mills, you stall the curve and lose the economy race even if your first Knight looks scary.
  7. Repairman on standby. Castle can train Repairman to keep mills, towers, and later the workshop alive. One repair body saves more gold than a fourth idle swordman.

Keep the King near the working blob. His aura buffs nearby troops (community testing treats the damage and heal bonus as large - on the order of half again). If he dies in a random farm fight, your push suddenly hits like a 1-5 lobby even when you queued 6+.

Water-map fork

If the map has fishing spots, add a port after your first mills rather than as mill one. Fishing boats make gold when you send them onto the marked water circles. They do not replace windmills; they are a second income lane that enemy attack ships can snip. Escort or hide the boats, and do not forget land mills while you stare at the sea.

Transport and warships come later from the same port line (some heavier ships want Armory research). Early, the fishing boat is the economic unit. If you cannot protect a port, skip it and win on land mills.

What not to buy in minute one

  • Siege Workshop. It is expensive (community figures sit around 125 gold) and the Catapult / Trebuchet / Ballista / War Wagon line needs a gold flood you do not have yet.
  • Hospital. Medic is real, but healing a three-swordman pack is not worth delaying mill three.
  • Balloon research. Fun, later.
  • A second Barracks. One is enough until mills are humming.

Ranked and 6+ notes

In the 1-5 bucket you can sometimes get away with a greedy fourth mill before any army. In 6+ and in Ranked after level 7, opponents contest farms on the clock. That is why the two-builder, small-swordman screen exists. Alliances help if you actually talk: one player mills wide, one player holds the middle with King and swordmen. Random ally silence is not a plan - still hit three mills yourself.

If you lose the castle, the game is not automatically over, but builders become precious. Pull remaining builders off the front, rebuild income, and do not suicide the King into the wreck. Destroying enemy castles still wins; yours falling just means you are on a timer.

After the opener

Once three-plus mills tick, spend into the role the map asks for. Tight chokes like Knights and repair. Open fields like longbowers and later trebuchets. Water maps like boats plus a land hold. Check the unit roster for which building trains which body, and the unit tier list if you want a strength ranking. Economy details live in the economy guide; siege follow-through lives in the siege guide.

Codes do not fund this opener. RTS and 2K pay lobby coins, not mill gold. Redeem in the Skins panel before you queue, then play the planner with match income only.

Print the mill rule on your brain: builders, farms, three mills, then Barracks. Everything else in this planner is a fork of that sentence. If a download site offers to auto-place the mills for you, that is not this tool - that is the ban path described under script safety. Click the builders yourself.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, ranked, windmills, and siege fights.

How many windmills before Barracks?

Build three or more. Two mills plus a Barracks often stalls income. Castle gold is about 25 per minute; each mill adds about 11.

What is a good first purchase from the castle?

Two builders (about 10 gold each) toward farms, then a small Swordman screen if the lane is contested. Do not skip mills for a fancy Barracks unit.

When should I make fishing boats?

On water maps, after you have land mills started. Send boats onto fishing spots from a port. They add gold; they do not replace windmills.

Does this opener change in Ranked?

The mill-first rule stays. Ranked unlocks after level 7, and the 6+ bucket contests farms sooner, so keep a cheap swordman screen while builders work.

Should I keep the King at home?

Keep him near the army you actually fight with. The aura is a huge buff. Do not wander him onto traps or isolated farms.

Is this planner a cheat?

No. It is a click-it-yourself recipe. Auto-build tools belong on the scripts hub warning pages, not in public matches.
